FMT Worldwide Invests in New Technology LabFor more information: MELBOURNE - 18 June 2008 - FMT Worldwide Pty Ltd, a leading provider of front-end Web application security and enhancement solutions, today announced it has invested in a new technology lab that allows the company to replicate large, complex environments to help enhance product flexibility and facilitate faster deployment of its FMT Octopus product. The robust lab will increase FMT's ability to develop even broader functionality for front-end FMT Octopus™, the company's award-winning infrastructure layer plug-in that enhances and secures Internet applications. The laboratory, which utilises IBM's latest blade technology and a combination of virtualisation technologies, operating systems and clients, can help create integration points between FMT Octopus and a wide range of partner technologies, including IBM Tivoli and ISS, as well as OEM partner services. The lab can simulate intricate ecosystems to produce test environments similar to real-world conditions. It will help FMT provide stable, quality-assured, ready-to-use products with improved capabilities and agility that benefit customers. For example, to improve Web application security, the lab can simulate attacks focused on both the client and server environments. Malicious activity such as distributed and cross-server attacks also can be replicated to study the best defence against them. "The work of our business partners on real-world client issues, such as Web application security, is critical. FMT's new laboratory offers clients analysis and development capabilities, essential to deploy new Web services," said David Boloker, Distinguished Engineer & Chief Technical Officer, Emerging Internet Technologies, IBM Software Group. "As more organisations adopt Web 2.0 technologies to deliver more value for their customers, we are seeing rising demand in the financial services, manufacturing, retail and government sectors to integrate and secure product and client information," said Boloker. "Partners such as IBM will derive huge value with proven out-of-the-box data and systems integration for even faster and easier deployment," said FMT Chief Executive Officer Kostas Siourthas. "This seven-figure investment underscores FMT's commitment to our customers, partners, the market and the future of our company."
