Context aware

FMT Octopus™ is a context-aware middleware plug-in. Embedded in an application server as a wrapper, the solution surrounds e-applications to enhance real-time security and application functionality.

Because of its unique architectural position, it can examine Internet transaction data in context of:

• Each user session
• Functions an e-application is requested to perform
• Previous online user behaviour

For example, if risky activity is detected by FMT Octopus before a user accesses an application it can ask for additional credentials, call out to a credit bureau, dynamically remove some website features, create cases for a management system or redirect to a honeypot.

Once a user is allowed access to an e-application, the solution can provide contextual control over application functionality to mitigate risks associated with transaction requests.

For instance, FMT Octopus can implement decisions that may alter each user experience or provide additional internal information (such as adding targeted banner advertising, modifying branding elements, logging specific marketing or security events, alerting internal staff to security risks, etc.).
